Local musician rocks tropics

Steven Youngblood recently released 'Guitars & Fishing Poles'

PANAMA CITY, FL - Steven Youngblood, a local singer and songwriter, has just stepped back into his local town of Panama City from peforming at Margaritaville Orlando in Universal Studios for the Parrothead organization. He stands in the spotlight with his new CD, “Guitars & Fishing Poles,” released Aug. 1, which was produced by Gary Carter in Nashville, Tenn.
   
Youngblood’s songs are being played worldwide among radio stations in the genre of Tropical Rock. Some of the numerous radio stations his songs are being broadcasted on are Tropicast and Spinner Radio in New York, Harbor Radio in California, Keywest107.1 and 1630 in Key West and over the Internet on Sandbar Radio. Overall, the whole northeastern seaboard is tuned in and all the way from the coast of California to even over in Australia. He is locally played on WKGC in Panama City, WVVL 101.1 in Enterprize, Ala., and WOYS 100.5 in Apalachicola.
   
The evolution of Youngblood’s career as a singing musician and songwriter began as a boy by the bay in Panama City. His family has been living in the area since before the Civil War era. Youngbloodgrew into a songwriter painting a tropical setting of the seashore within his song lyrics. He falls into the genre of Trop Rock with a combination of tropical island and country sound. Some prominent musicians that have greatly influenced him are Jimmy Buffet, Brad Paisley, Josh Turner, Eric Stone and Charlie Black.

Where to find Youngblood:
Youngblood will be performing on Sept. 6 in Mexico Beach at Mango Marley’s from 6 -10 p.m. He also will be playing at Fudpucker’s in Destin on Sept. 11. Next year, he will perform on the Parrothead float for the Mardi Gras parade.
