Some downtown streets to close for July 4th

PANAMA CITY, FL -  Motorists in downtown Panama City should be aware of several street closures in conjunction with the "Salute to Freedom" Fourth of July celebration at the Panama City Marina.

Traffic will not be permitted in the marina during the event.

The boat ramp at the marina will be closed at midnight Friday through about 10 p.m. Saturday.

Parking at the marina for tenants and vendors will be by permit only, south of the Marina Civic Center.

Limited public parking will be available in the lot north of the civic center and lots north and south of city hall.

Beach Drive will be closed at 7 p.m. between West Sixth Street and Cherry Street. This area will reopen to traffic after the fireworks display, once it is deemed safe.

Motorists traveling east and west crossing Grace, Jenks and Harrison avenues should expect delays because of heavy traffic from those leaving the downtown area after the fireworks.
