PANAMA CITY, FL - The Unitarian Universalists Fellowship of Bay County will present Arts Night on Friday, Sept. 25 . The event begins at 7 p.m., and will host a variety of musicians, artists and writers showing their skills in a relaxing atmosphere. This event is free to the public, and refreshments will be served.
Local musician Sus, who can be seen playing regularly at local nightclubs, will be playing a set of his original music. His mix of rock 'n roll and blues has one him acclaim not just in Panama City but throughout the Gulf Coast.
Joining Sus will be visual artist Kelly Duncan and writers Tony Simmons, Lynn Wallace and Douglas Wells.
Duncan is a long-time Panama City resident who has exhibited as far away as New York and France. She will have a display of her work on hand for guests to view, and will speak about her work.
Simmons is perhaps best known for his work at the News Herald where he's currently the Online Content Editor. In addition, he has published several books, including his debut fictional novel "Welcome to the Dawning of a New Century."
Wallace is author of the novel "Los Caminantes" and recently released a book of poetry entitled "Wound In The Sun," and teaches at Gulf Coast Community College.
Also from GCCC, Wells is an Associate Professor of Language & Literature at the college, and is author of "Last Boat to Sorrow Beach."
The writers will each read from their work for a portion of the program, and will also be on hand with copies of their work for interested guests.
The UU Fellowship of Bay County is located at the corner of Lisenby Ave. and Airport Rd. This event is free to the public and refreshments will be served.
