PANAMA CITY BEACH — The 15th annual Thunder Beach Spring Rally officially kicks off Wednesday with motorcycles, music and the Miss Thunder Beach Pageant at Whiskeys.

“It is going to be big next week,” said manager La-La Salemno, who was busy running around and getting signatures for special event permits, on Wednesday.  “They require all the bells and whistles to make sure everybody’s safe, that there’s enough lighting.”

The Thunder Beach Kick Start Party starts at 7 p.m. at Whiskeys Saloon & Package, 17190 Front Beach Road, just west of State 79.  Hear live music from Buck Wild, and get food and drink specials.

“We have a full bar and barbecue is going to be going on next Wednesday through Saturday,” Salemno said. “Whiskeys is the kind of bar where you will feel at home.”

The saloon opened March 6, 2012, and has been through last year’s Thunder Beach spring and autumn rallies.

“This is our first kick-start party and our first time to be a really big sponsor. Last fall we had David Allan Coe, and that really put us on the map,” Salemno said. “We really wanted to step up to the plate.”

Whiskeys is sure to draw in a crowd during Wednesday’s kick-off with the first preliminary Miss Thunder Beach pageant. Daric “The Hitman” Daniels will emcee the first as well as the second preliminary at 7 p.m. Thursday at Hammerhead Fred’s.
